11/11/06 - Dear Ray, As asked my observations about your mouth snaggers. I’m fishing this private water of about 10 acres. I found a hot spot on the far bank right in corner. You can’t walk to it because it’s a bit of a wilderness; it’s a chuck of approx 150 yards. I’ve been reaching it by casting a 4oz korda zip lead with a short semi stiff hook length on my free spirit excessives. The fish act really strange in this corner. I think they feel safe there. Most of the anglers that fish this lake can’t reach this spot. When you get a take you get a few bleeps then they kite down the far reed lined margin. The pain in the ass is to set the hook at that range as you are not getting full runs. I’ve lost more fish due to hook pulls than I have landed. The last two 24hr sessions I’ve used the white maggot Hook Snaggers you sent me to try out and guess what, over the two sessions I’ve had 9 twentys with NO hook pulls. All the fish were well hooked in the bottom lip about 3/4inch in. What a result!! I found they work best with the size 10 Centurion 2000 hooks. You were right Ray. After tying up the rigs I did the palm test as you instructed and it worked the hook turned over every time. That gave me loads of confidence. Another thing you may be interested in Ray, we have recently returned from fishing the St Lawrence River in the USA. We were taken out each day by boat and dropped off in brilliant little fished spots, loads of 20s and 30s. Most of the swims were very snaggy. My mates were using the most commonly used hooks, Korda, ESP etc. and the hook points were turning over due to retrieving over very rocky ground. I used your centurion 2000 hooks in size 6 and had no such problems, except I ran out of hooks by the end of the week due to my mates nicking them all. Please send me some more Mouth Snaggers I can’t wait to put them on all 3 rods, and some Centurion 2000 hooks in size 10s and 6s 8s all the best Ray. Yours truly, D.J.C. Daniels 15/11/06 - Many thanks for the package, I appreciate you generosity. As promised please find enclosed two photos of a recent catch, a 25lb 12oz mirror and a 27lb.12oz mirror .Weights are written on the rear of each photo. Both were caught on a Free Spirit 31/2lb E X Sesive rod, Emblem X 5000, reel loaded with 16lb Pro Clear line, lead core leader, Korda 4oz zip lead, size 10 Centurion hook, with the white Maggot Mouth Snagger and a 14mm boillie. They were caught at a range of approx. 150.yards. Both fish were hooked in the bottom lip about _ inch in. Next time I catch, I will take some close ups of the fish with the Mouth Snagger still in the mouth. Once again many thanks Ray. Yours sincerely, D.J.C. Daniels 31/03/07- Dear Ray, I’ve just returned from a 24hr session and would like to share my observations. We arrived this Wednesday on the Linear Complex and drove onto Oxlease hoping to fish there for a lump. We were lucky to bump into Roy the bailiff who told us it was a bit busy. Busy! 36 swims 34 anglers. Rapid change of plan, decided to fish Brasenose 1. On arrival we counted 16 anglers so picked two swims on the bank between Brasenose 1 and Brasenose 2Far right corner out of the way. We had a word with some lads walking down the bank who were on a work party and they informed us that they had two upper twenty’s on Monday but it had shut of and nothing had been out since. As I was setting up I saw a fish head and shoulder at about 120yds. Ten mins later it showed again. I set up with 15lb pro clear Korda safety clip 3oz zip lead 6 inch floro link to a size 10 centurion and a white “Hook Snagger” with a 16mm yellow Mainline High leakage hook bait and blasted it to the showing fish. In the next 12 hrs I picked up a 11.8oz and a 16.12oz carp. To my knowledge nothing else was caught during that time. I had no pick ups on the other rods that I was fishing without the “Mouth Snaggers” Shows once again they work Ray! Yours sincerely, D.J.C. Daniels
